Seared Wild Tuna on Toast

Seared Wild Tuna on Toast

Today’s lunch was a total hit! I started this week by planning my meals in advance. I had all the ingredients in the house, so when the guys came home for lunch it was ready.

To put this lunch together, you’ll need tamari, tuna, bread, wasabi, avocado, garlic, salt and lime.

I started by making my Wasabi Guacamole. I mashed two avocados in a mixing bowl, added 2 cloves of crushed garlic, a pinch of salt, and the juice of half a lime. I added some wasabi using Wasabi Powder.

Next, I turned on my broiler, and broiled 6 pieces of Flambe Loaf from Crusty Bun Bakery here in Winnipeg. Just to crisp it up a bit. I drizzled Tamari on both sides of the tuna and let it sit for a few minutes.

Next, I heated my steel pan in the oven for about 5 minutes. While the pan was heating, I spread the guacamole on the 6 pieces of toast.

Remove pan from oven and place over high heat on the stove top. Add fish to pan. Sear for 2-3 minutes, depending on thickness. Flip onto the next side and sear for another 2-3 minutes. IMG_1313 2

Remove from pan. Let the fish sit for 2-3 minutes. Slice into thin slices, laying 2-3 pieces of fish on each piece of toast.
