No this isn’t of of those gadgets you’ll use once and stash in the back of your cupboard for years. The AeroPress coffee maker is a new kind of coffee press that brews coffee under ideal conditions: proper temperature, total immersion, and rapid filtering.
Be prepared to make room on your already crowded counter for a new press that will put your old one to shame. The Aeropress produces an amazingly delicious coffee without bitterness and with very low acidity.
The AeroPress is a device for brewing coffee. It was invented in 2005 by Aerobie president Alan Adler. Coffee is steeped for between 10-50 seconds (depending on grind and preferred strength) and then forced through a filter by pressing the plunger through the tube. The AeroPress coffee maker is most commonly used in the home kitchen but it is lightweight, compact, and durable, making it ideal for use when camping, backpacking, boating, or traveling. Not only that but it is extremely easy to clean. All it takes is a quick rinse, and disposal of the paper filter and you’re good to go.
I like to press two #1 espresso shots into a large insulated tumbler filled with ice, top with water and cream.
You can find the Aeropress on Amazon. Take a look at the www.aerobe.com site for more ideas and recipes.
